Smart merge, not a blind overwrite
When a modpack update lands, XMlauncher separates pack-owned files from files you've touched. Pack changes (new mod versions, updated defaults) are applied; your local changes to configs are preserved — and where both changed, you get a clear conflict instead of a silent loss.
A git-like timeline
- Every update is a snapshot — the pre-update state is kept, not discarded
- One-click rollback — if 1.2.1 misbehaves, go back to 1.2.0 instantly
- History stays local — snapshots live on your disk, no account needed
How to use it
- Open the Modpacks engine and pick your pack.
- When an update is available, review what changed before applying it.
- If anything feels off afterwards, roll back from the pack's history timeline.

- Rollback to previous snapshot — restores the exact pre-update state of the pack
- Re-apply preserved configs — restores your tuned settings if an update clobbered them
