Yes, the launcher itself is completely free. VIP and cosmetics in the Store are optional.
You can play offline without any account, or link a real Microsoft account, or use Ely.by for a custom skin without owning Minecraft.
Pick your version, then choose the loader from the Engine section — the launcher installs it automatically, no manual downloads.
The launcher checks for updates automatically on startup and installs them in the background — you never have to manually download a new version.
Log in, then use "Become a Creator" or "Apply for Staff" from the sidebar in the launcher (or the footer links here on the site). An admin reviews every application.
